THANKSGIVING

Thinking of thanksgiving, most of people have a lot things to be thankful for. For those who formally celebrate the event, it is a day off from work known as a long week end. In Canada, Thanksgiving day means various things to different people. In fact, to some Canadians the day might signify a Turkey day whereby this bird is very loved and consumed with gravy. To some Thanksgiving is a family day, grandparents, parents, children, and grandchildren all congregate together for a special meal; again the Turkey and gravy must be on the table. To some other Canadians, the day is a great day! they are grateful for what they have accomplished in the year (wedding, graduation, dating, new carrier, new job, new baby, sickness recovery, and so on). Some
Children also recognize their parents for what they have done for them including new clothes, new toys, reading a bedtime story, allowing them a sleepover at a friend's home, and taking them out on a weekend.
I heard some people in various places being grateful for the fact that they have come to Canada, enjoying the peace, security, and their basic needs being met on a daily basis. We thank God for this wonderful Country, Canada.

Thinking of thanksgiving in the village of Kiliba, I thought of that and called a widow in same village. I said, " Happy Thanksgiving Day! This widow replied saying, " I thank God for the Loan from CIAL, I could not have anything to feed my children today if it was not the small profit I made from selling some cassava flour." She added that she was grateful for all CIAL donors in Winnipeg and Canada for they continue sustaining her life and her children. THANK YOU CANADIANS.
Let us pose here for one second and think about this. Envision yourself being in both places at different times. What would you be grateful for when you are in the Village of Kiliba, beside being alive? What would you be thankful for when you come back to Canada after living in Kiliba for a week? How would you help this widow not to focus on CIAL but ...

FROM KILIBA

My name is Daniel Depens Bitajabuka, I am the founder and Executive director of CANADA INTERAID LINK, INC. (CIAL) which is a nonprofit organization founded officially in 2005 when it was incorporated in the province of Manitoba. For more information about the organization visit http://www.cialteam.org/.

I have created this blog page so that you and I can be sharing ideas about what we do in this organization. You will quickly discover that there are currently three (3) main areas of focus with CIAL. 1) Widows in Africa, 2) Orphans in Africa, 3) Private Refugee Sponsorship.

Because the two first focus are based in the village of Kiliba, Democratic Republic of Congo, we will be discussing what is going on in Kiliba as regard to these two projects. Of course, we will also be discussing any development happening in our local Refugee Program in Winnipeg.

I would now like to invite you to join me in these discussions when time and opportunity arrive.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and I want to specially to thank you for your ongoing supports (morally, spiritually, socially, and so on)

Have you ever heard of CIAL? Do you know what this accronym stands for? There are alot of things INSIDE CIAL. I want to invite you to join me so that we can discover together what is cooking inside CIAL.

Thank you in advance for joining me on this less traveled road of EMPOWERING the vulnerable people such as Widows, Orphans and Refugees. Your thoughts will highly be considered and appreciated.

Thank you again,

Daniel
